Ciao! Sorella Kennedy Takes on Italy: May 2015

Well this week was pretty much AMAZING. We got to go up to Rome and see everyone!!!! Literally everyone in the whole mission came because drumroll..... Italy is gettting Ipads! annndddd..... Anziano Bednar came to talk to us!!! It was seriously the coolest thing ever. Never did I ever imagine that I would be a missionary sitting in a hotel ballroom 6 rows away from an apostle of the Lord telling me just advice about the spirit and about life. We didnt really talk about Ipads that much we mainly talked about listening to the spirit. It was incredible. I really cannot convey the level of incredibleness that it was but... trust me. What I can try to convey is that I know without a doubt that Anziano Bednar is an apostle of the Lord. That he was called by God to stand as a witness to the world of the divinity and majesty of our Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. I know that what he says and tells us is inspired by our Father in Heaven and that he holds the same authority that the prophets and apostles held in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We are blessed in these days to have a prophet and apostles to lead and guide us and to listen to what heaven has to tell us for our day specifically. what an incredible blessing. Well after we came home from Rome we had some neat experiences as well! sooooooo... Friday night we were planning for saturday and we had an entire afternoon/night of finding planned. So that night i went to sleep and I prayed and asked heavenly father to lead us to new investigators. We have a new goal in our mission to find 3 new investigators a week and so I asked Heavenly Father to help lead us to those 3 new people and to have the strength and courage necessary to open my mouth and to do finding for that long. Well we woke up that morning and Sorella Argyle said I think we need to do finding this morning as well. So we ditched our original plans for the Morning and studied hard and prayed hard for a day of finding. So we made a plan for the morning to go to the parks and then to go and do what we call whiteboard finding in the Piazza which is where you have a whiteboard and you write a question on it and you go up and talk to people about your question. So we set off first to a park near our house and found noone.. haha however as we were walking out of the park we passed a neighboorhood that we had never really gone into before or really seen because it is kind of hidden, so we felt like we should go in so we did and we started knocking. About our 3rd house we found a grandma outside and started to talk and she was like I dont speak italian, Im romanian but wait. She looked like she knew us so we waited and she got her granddaughter. Her granddaughter came out and told us that their whole family had met with the missionaries about a year ago and that they came over almost every day. We asked if they would still be interested in our message and they she said yes so we got there number and made an appointment to come back!! Then we kept knocking and found 2 more return appointments in that neightborhood!! This was amazing!!!! Then as we were leaving we decided to go through the other park and we passed by this woman who was feeding her baby. We said hello and she smiled and said hello and we kept walking. But after about 20 feet or so we felt like we needed to turn back and so i told sorella argyle and we turned around. We went up to her and we asked her if we could share a message with her about god and the family and she was like sure... prego... and i was like excuse me... did you just say yes??! no i didnt really say that.. haha but i started talking about the family and then sorella argyle tied it into the restoration and then in the end we got a return appointment for next week to go to her house and teach her family more!!! AHHHHH. This was a morning of miracles. It was so amazing to see how the Lord led us exactly where we needed to be and when we needed to be there. It was an answer to prayer and truly a miracle. The Lord really knows where we are and who the people we need to find are. The scriptures tell us that the Lord is working along side his servants in the vineyard and let me testify that this is so true. I know that that the Lord was working beside us that morning laboring and directing us and where to go and what to do. The work is in his hands and we trust in him, we have no need to fear.
